Hot Air Balloons
We were sitting on the deck after work when I heard the sound of a hot air balloon firing. I grabbed the camera and made a short video.

Nuclear Security Summit
Our neighborhood is hosting 40 or so world leaders this week. We are only a block from the DC Convention Center, so we are on the edge of the security cordon. They worked most of the night last night setting up the barriers. The neighbors all gathered out on the street last night to watch all of the police and Secret Service and to warn everyone that they would get towed if they parked on our block. The first photo is from our front door last night.
Snow
Here are some photos from Wednesday morning. They are predicting another foot on Friday. The first is from 10th St. in front of our house. We have enjoyed the winter so far, but we haven't gotten much use from our front yard bench. The potted camellia has been incredibly hardy. We just shake off the snow, and the blossoms come back. Oldenski Halloween 2009
The Oldenski family looked great for Halloween. They had a chilly night for it, but had fun. It was terrific to see everyone.
