Kennisons' Meeting Place

Stephanie's first born son, Drew, is graduating from the University of Texas Arlington in December.  He will be completing a BA in Graphic Design.  Drew has loved drawing since he picked up his first crayon.  I went to visit at the Collins house when Drew was 4.  He showed me the graphic novel (comic book) that he penned (his mother bound it) and as I marveled at the story and the art, he pronounced that "he had no small ambitions" concerning his art. At the end of his sophomore year, Drew was referred to the university graphic arts department and he was chosen as their student intern.  There were 300 other students that wanted that position.  This experience he gained has served him well as he went out into the business world.  He applied for an open spot at the world headquarters of Six Flags which is located here in Arlington.  He just found out today that he has the position!!  He starts next week as he continues to finish his last se...

Will is playing full contact football in the 3rd grade. He is is gung ho, and enjoying it so far. Drew and Katie were there to support him.

Greg hosted Donnie, Will, and me at Hawks Creek for a round of golf. We had a great day but we were certainly made aware that more time on the practice range will be of benefit.

We were sitting on the deck after work when I heard the sound of a hot air balloon firing. I grabbed the camera and made a short video.

Our neighborhood is hosting 40 or so world leaders this week. We are only a block from the DC Convention Center, so we are on the edge of the security cordon. They worked most of the night last night setting up the barriers. The neighbors all gathered out on the street last night to watch all of the police and Secret Service and to warn everyone that they would get towed if they parked on our block. The first photo is from our front door last night.

Here are some photos from Wednesday morning. They are predicting another foot on Friday. The first is from 10th St. in front of our house. We have enjoyed the winter so far, but we haven't gotten much use from our front yard bench. The potted camellia has been incredibly hardy. We just shake off the snow, and the blossoms come back. Jeff
