Watching the Night Sky

It was windy today and kind of cool but I spent some time outside raking,

Tonight, a little sore,  I decided to use the hot tub. What a nice sky!. Here's a link to a map of the night sky at our latitude and longitude. (I need tripod to try and see if I can snap  a picture to send you. )

The web site that provides this "map"  has other tools to help you learn about the sky in you area. Not necessarily easy to use but it might be fun.

How nice that you could see the sky from your hot tub. That means that you are not having snow tonight! Yeah! I love looking at the stars, but I have no knowledge of them. Thanks for the link.

I go years between good star gazing events. It has to be on vaction, far away from the ground light polution of our metroplex of 6MM and growing. The individual stars and constellations don't seem to matter to me, but when you can really see the Milky Way it's stunning to think of the immensity of this corner of the universe we can see. Thanks for the reminder Brian.
