I looked at those pictures and I only knew of few of the names but it seemed to me that I knew more of the people in the 5 years reunion photo than in the thirty ;-)

Trumpka had a Fiat (I think) that when loaded down with boys (sticking their heads out the top) it would hardly make it up the hill from the swimming pool. I'm not sure of the color but I think it was pale blue. Gina may remember.

I recognized Arthur Titus in the pictures and some of the names. I am glad that someone posted something. Yeah!!

The Fiat Bianchinni (sp?) was pale blue and had a cloth sunroof. It was owned by Bill Shimonski (sp?). I remember that Gina had dated Bill (?)(remember, this is just my recollection), or was just in love from a distance. Bill was one of the upperclassmen that played basketball in our back alley.

I recognized a few of the names in the photos but what struck me was how iconic the convertible and queen and court were to the era as portrayed by Hollywood.

I also heard the NPR broadcast of Rich Trumka, and then went to the uTube video of his speech in July to the Steel workers. I was moved and impressed that he has taken on such an important and difficult issue of American life so directly. Big props to Rich!

He was in Teresa's class and they had some dates before she got with me. Jeff, I always amazed at the Greene County arcana you can dig up.

I recognized Tommy Glover, Joe Vuknic, Gloria Crakovich, Patty McMinn (I think that they were both cheerleaders.), Michelle Worch (She went to St. Hugh.), Kitty Kimes, and Arthus from the five year picture and also Pauline Watona from the 30th year reunion. (She was married to Jimmy Zalar and died in an accident when a tree fell on Jimmy's car, killing his dad and her mother too.)The person I was looking for in each picture wasn't there...Donald (Quack) Modrick.
Bill Shimonsky. As you said, Kev, I desired him from a distance. Until I did have a chance to go out with him when I was in college and he was in the Air Force. The desire left..Did love that car though! The names Brack Diamond and Pete Mahle sound so familiar to me but I don't really know who they were.

 When watching the evening news today, I saw an image of coal barges lined up at the docks at the USS Mon Valley Steel Plant.  Of course the news segment was about the White House blocking the sale of USS to Nippon Steel.  My mind wandered to to dad's career at the Robena Prep Plant.  I didn't think that it was still in operation but I searched for more information.  I found that the Robena deep mines closed in 1983, but plant continued to operate until 2017 processing coal from surface mining for Consol Mining.  It seems that reclamation of the site began many years before 2017, most likely mandated by local concerns about environmental damage from seepage from the three large slurry ponds and other surface contamination.  Dad took me out one Sunday afternoon to inspect the dikes and berms around the ponds.  We had to hop into one of the big company trucks to traverse the dirt roads around the site.
