NYC and The View

I have just returned from a trip to NYC. Michele got tickets for The View. She invited her sister, her mom and me to go with her. We drove up on Tuesday morning. That afternoon we took a tour of the art work in the buildings at Rockefeller Center. Then we took the NBC tour. Michele ended up being the weather woman - against the green screen. Amazing.
That evening we went to see Jersey Boys -- Fantastic. It was terrific. We went out to eat afterward and had a great meal.
Wednesday morning we got up and walked to the ABC studio - about 19 blocks. We then stood in line for 2.25 hours in a very hot crowded corner of a room where you could not sit - even on the floor. Finally we did get seated. The show had guests Kate Winslet and Jane Krakowski from 30 Rock. It was a good show, but it really does not happen the way that it appears to happen when you watch it. I took a lot of pictures, but only one turned out. It is Kate Winslet talking to Whoopi. I hope that Michele has better ones.
Back to reality now.

You're livin' the life! I saw Kathy watching the View early this evening and commented on the excellent performance of Ms. Winslet in The Reader. After I read your post I went back to see if she had deleted this show. Too bad it's gone. I wanted to see you in the audience.

Kate was wonderful, as always. You wouldn't have seen me unless you stopped the recording and moved it ahead one frame at a time. I was seated at the end of a row and was not on camera. Michele, her sister and mom were on camera.
I had a chance to win $25,000, but some other lucky audience member won that.

What an exciting trip! What fun to see The View and on a day when the guests were so good.
Glad that you got to see Jersey Boys. I'm ready to see it again! Was it hard to keep from singing every song?!
Those tours are so good too.
Sounds like you had a terrific couple of days!

I clicked on your Photo Albums here and saw that you posted so many excellent candid shots from the studio. I bet the breaks were as interesting as the actual on camera times. I liked the shots from the ice rink at Rockefeller Center. I just posted a shot of Kathy and me there on a warm sunny lunchtime on the screen saver folder of Kathy's new computer.

What a great NYC trip! Sounds like you packed a lot into a couple of days--what fun! We haven't seen the Reader but there was a pretty interesting review on NPR a few weeks ago. March...and spring?...are just around the corner!
