Thanks for the post Kristin. We planted a dogwood in the front woodlands by the patio at least five years ago. It has slowly grown but it has never bloomed. This area is in deep shade so there is not enough energy to create the blooms. There is not a variety of dogwood that prospers in our Texas heat.
Too bad that your dogwood won't flower Kevin, but you do have many other wonderful blooming plants. Your grounds are fantastic. Carey's dogwood is really large and blooms beautifully. Mine are dwarf kuosa dogwoods, but they are full of blooms.
Great blooms on that guy. Our dogwood in the front was not that good this year but the kosa in the back has been special. KY has had a cool wet spring so everything that can bloom is. Oh well on comes the heat of summer.
Kathy's middle daughter Kristin delivered beautiful twin boys this past Sunday evening. Her water broke at home at about 9:45 in the evening. She called her Doc and then her mom. Kathy ran out the door in one minute and she and Todd had Kristin to the hospital in what seemed to be only 15 minutes. The babies were 6 weeks short of full term. Miles was 5-3 and Sam was 4-9. They will spend a few days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Center to gain a bit of weight and practice the sucking. Congratulations to Kris and Todd. We can't wait to see them home. I added a small set of photos to Kevin's Photos on the sidebar here.
If I am not online tomorrow my power is probably out. We had an inch of ice I lost three trees in my yard Unfortunately a thousand pound limb landed on a passing car – thankfully no injuries. CA earthquake and FL hurricanes are looking better than before. http://picasaweb.google.com/carey.kennison
Greg and I went in to Dallas on a rainy Tuesday evening to see the Dallas Mavericks take on Kobe and the Lakers. Our Mavs forgot to participate in the first half and were down as much as 24 points. The coach (The Little General) must have pulled in some big markers in the locker room at half time because it was a different team that took the floor after the break. You can see that we were 3 points down at 21 seconds to go and we pulled it back to one point at 12 seconds. The game went to LA in the end but we certainly got our money's worth. We'll soon see how this season pans out, but tonight we take on the lead leading Boston Celtics. They don't stand a chance.
