Another Day at the Office

It's always nice to end the work week with a visit from Hillary Clinton! On Friday, Madam Secretary Clinton came over to USAID to give a speech. What's even better is that I was able to shake her hand!

I'll tell you. What a big week you have had! Did you give Secretarty Clinton any advice on the problems in the middle east? The Executive Orders from the President's office this week were reassuring that is going to implement the promised changes.

Pretty exciting stuff, Melissa.
I'm impressed that you got to shake Hillary's hand! You and Jeff certainly do live and work in the right place!

Hey, I saw governor John Roland (convicted) and his wife Patty at the video store once! Does that count?

What about the time when Bill Clinton was stumping for Hillary in Arlington last fall. It was a Sunday morning at Vandergriff Park with about 200 people in attendance. After his brief speech he had an urgent call of nature. He saw some cars at the adjacent Central Park Surgery Center. The Secret Service pull the limo up to the back door and knocked until the Doc who was there came to the back door. Bill ran to the Doctor's lounge and in a minute he was on his way. Kathy had a plaque mounted on the wall "Bill peed here."

Amazing Melissa! I with Kevin - did you give her any advice? How quickly a change in administration has changed your office. Hopefully you will get to see Mr. President soon!

Poor Bill Clinton gets no respect. The Clintons traveled to Guatemala a couple of years ago, and several of the businesses in Antigua featured photos of them on the walls. My favorite was a big sign outside a restaurant advertising an "eat what Bill ate" special. The name tickled me, given Bill' reputation as an indiscriminate eater. It was called "De todo un poco", and basically included a portion of nearly every entree on the menu.
