Back from Florida

I am back from a wonderful week in Florida with my friends Jim and Gale Lynch. They certainly know how to live. They are at the beach all year long- 8 months on Sanibel Island and 4 months in Ocean Grove, NJ. The weather was wonderful and they are great cooks. I was requested to make crab cakes. I made crab cakes for them when they were here in the summer. Jim loved them. I made extra so they could freeze them. Now I am back in the cold. No more watching the sun set into the water.

What a gorgeous shot, Kristin. Glad that you had such a good time! It is snowing here and getting colder and colder. My book club meets tonight. I loved the book, THE HERETIC'S DAUGHTER by Kathleen Kent and would love to hear what others thought but am not sure that I want to venture out on these roads in the dark.
Close your eyes and think about the sunshine and warmth you just left!

Kristin, I guessed that you were out of town when we didn't hear from you about "The Fire In Carmichaels". Your just livin' right girl! What great friends and such a lovely place. Do put up a few more photos of you and your friends to your photo site. We all can use some Florida cheer in this terribly cold week.

Ok Kevin,
I put the pictures of Sanibel in my pictures. There are so many of sunsets. We love our sunsets.

I loved your pictures. Thanks for adding the album. Where is that lovely flower lined drive? Is this just to the Lynch home or this a resort entry? The big bougainvilla is real eye candy. I like your driftwood shots. When I was last in Hawaii, on the first walk on the beach, the first evening, I found a piece of driftwood that must have been in the sea and washed up on a dozen different beaches over decades. It was bleached white and scoured and eroded into a shape that I thought evoked the image of a sea dragon. I named it Puff (we were in Hanelei) and put it under my bed for the rest of the week. There were many amused looks in the airport as I carried Puff up to board the plane. I smiled at the flight attendents and asked if I could stand this 6' tall piece up in the hanging closet as you enter. Can you believe that they agreed? I hung this up on a patio wall back in Arlington.

I am glad that you liked the pictures. Yes, the picture is of their bougainvilla in their yard. What a story about the drift wood. Amazing that you could bring it with you on the plane.

Your pictures are simply beautiful, Kristin. What an exotic looking vacation with wonderful friends. I can imagine that you are in shock so soon after leaving all that tropical beauty to be in zero degree temps!
