Ice Woes

If I am not online tomorrow my power is probably out.

We had an inch of ice

I lost three trees in my yard

Unfortunately a thousand pound limb landed on a passing car – thankfully no injuries.

CA earthquake and FL hurricanes are looking better than before.

Carey and Yo are having a day to remember. Clink on the link to Carey's Photos on the left here to see some shots of the fallen limb and crushed car. It sounds like his power to the house is hanging by a thread as well. Hope you make it through the night.

Carey,

You are an old hand at living through power outages. Anything under a week is a breeze. Good luck.

Looks pretty bad brother. We were without power in Mississippi for 14 days. We had some ice a couple of weeks ago that brought down some limbs but it wasn't as bad as yours. Hopefully you'll get above freezing today. Our drive is a sheet of ice. It snowed and then became freezing rain and then just plain rain. Then by dark it all froze solid. Every road around is covered in ice. We need a little bit of sunshine.

I just checked your photos. The ice storm does provide some beautiful images. Too bad it is so hard on the trees.

Sun is starting to shine here...hope you get some of it too! Looks like quite a mess...lucky nothing fell on your house, though.

WHAT a mess!! I am so sorry. Did that happen to be your 1000 pound tree limb that fell on the passing motorist?!! Thank God there were no injuries. Do you remember hearing about the tree falling on Jimmy Zalar's car that killed his wife, father, and mother-in-law?!!
There is no sun here today but at least the precipitation has stopped.
I hope that you are experiencing enough of a rise in temperature to start the deicing process.
Does it flood in your area?!

It is amazing how we can be totally taken out of our norm by the woes that accompany the bad weather. I certainly hope that you keep your power. Good luck.
